Marketing Executive Job Summary

Pupil Progress is seeking a Marketing Executive to join our developing team. In this role, you will support the Marketing Director and Manager, demonstrating exceptional organisational skills and budget management. Salary range:

The salary will range from £27,000-31,000, depending on experience level for full time applications.

About us

Pupil Progress was started eight years ago by two experienced secondary school senior leaders with a mission to transform how data is used in education. 

We have built a company with a web-based platform that supports thousands of teachers in all aspects of assessment tracking, reporting and analysis. We give teachers confidence in their data so they can make the decisions to improve their teaching strategies and unlock their students’ potential.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Planning and implementing marketing events and product launches
  • Collaborating on marketing plans, product concepts, and promotional programs to drive interest and sales
  • Maintaining the corporate brand in all marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Conducting market research, utilising focus groups and questionnaires to gather insights
  • Building relationships with internal and external creative teams, marketing agencies, suppliers, and contractors
  • Supporting the Marketing Director, Marketing Manager, sales team and the after-sales team
  • Representing the marketing team at promotional events
  • Maintenance and upkeep of websites to enhance the user experience
  • Planning and executing SEO, SEM, email, social media, and advertising campaigns with agencies and in-house support
  • Analysing and utilising CRM databases for marketing campaigns, reporting, and increasing customer retention
  • Administrative support across diary management, event coordination, marketing calendars and critical paths
  • Maintenance and QA across marketing channels

Candidate requirements:

What you’ll need:

  • Exceptional command of the English language for both writing and editing
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and campaigns with success
  • Initiative, drive and agility to move accurately and with speed
  • Independent, self-motivated, and proactive with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience in Hubspot and Squarespace or similar web platforms a bonus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing role
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
  • Strong proofreading and copywriting abilities
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking abilities and problem-solving skill.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive work ethic
  • Experience of using metrics for reporting and performance purposes
  • Adaptability to embrace change and willingness to learn
  • Ability to accept and act on feedback
  • Calm demeanour, ability to work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-departmental team members

  • Mon-Fri 9-5.30pm, office-based in central Brighton (by station) 
  • Opportunity for flexible and remote working

Recruitment process

This role will be recruited remotely in part before a final face to face interview with the Marketing Director and Founder for the final stage of the hiring process. 

The hiring process may also include a task that replicates activities that will be within your core responsibilities.
