Employer Branding Specialist Job Summary

Pupil Progress, an innovative education technology company, is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Employer Branding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping and communicating our employer brand to attract and retain top talent. As the Employer Branding Specialist, you will report directly to the Marketing Director and work closely with the founding team to strategically position Pupil Progress as an employer of choice.

Salary range:

The salary will range from £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience level for full time applications, while we’ll also welcome prorata rates for reduced hours, for example, Monday-Friday 9 AM - 4 PM, and also for part time.

Pupil Progress was started six years ago by two experienced secondary school senior leaders with a mission to transform how data is used in education. 

We have built a company with a web-based platform that supports thousands of teachers in all aspects of assessment tracking, reporting and analysis. We give teachers confidence in their data so they can make the decisions to improve their teaching strategies and unlock their students’ potential.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Conduct Brand Research: Employ diverse strategies to understand internal and external perceptions, utilising surveys, focus groups, exit interviews, social media analysis, and engagement with recruitment agencies.
  • Define Employer Value Proposition (EVP): Craft a compelling EVP that highlights unique benefits, growth opportunities, company culture, work-life balance, and aligns with the broader goals and principles of Pupil Progress.
  • Communicate Employer Brand: Utilise various channels such as the company website, social media, job postings, and events to consistently convey compelling stories that showcase Pupil Progress's culture, values, and mission.
  • Walk the talk: Ensure consistency between the communicated employer brand and the actual employee experience, living up to promises made during the hiring and onboarding process. Ensuring with the Marketing Director that it is captured and documented on our key social media channels, leading on the curation and management of the employer brand content for social media.
  • Employee Engagement: Recognise employees as brand ambassadors and encourage them to share positive experiences, enhancing the credibility and reach of the employer brand. You will also lead and create employee experiences, from employee reward schemes to social experiences. 
  • Office management: There will be a degree of administrative and operational duties to ensure the smooth running of people management, covering but not limited to office processes, sourcing and recruiting talent, and ordering supplies.
  • Challenges in Employer Branding: Address hurdles such as aligning employer brand with corporate brand, maintaining consistent communication, curating a positive online reputation, adapting to remote work, and addressing diversity and inclusion.
  • Measuring Impact: Track key metrics, including time to hire, cost per hire, employee engagement scores, and retention rates, to measure the effectiveness of employer branding initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of branding, employer value proposition, and effective communication strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate with both the marketing and HR personnel to align employer branding efforts.

  • Mon-Fri 9-5.30pm, office-based in central Brighton (by station)

Recruitment process

This role will be recruited remotely, using Zoom video conferencing to host a 2-stage interview process. A face to face interview will be required for the final stage of the hiring process. 

The hiring process may also include a task that replicates activities that will be within your core responsibilities.
